VELASurrogacy

This photo was taken during my most recent surrogacy journey—the moment a proud big sibling reached out to say hello.

About Megan

Why I started Vela.

I’m a mother and a two-time gestational surrogate. I've experienced this journey from both sides—celebrating with intended parents as they meet the child they'd hoped and waited for, then returning home to my own family knowing exactly why it all mattered.

Every surrogacy journey is different, but it helps to have someone beside you who understands it from firsthand experience.

I created Vela because I believe surrogacy should feel personal—not transactional. Every surrogate and every intended parent deserves honest communication, thoughtful guidance, and genuine support from someone who understands both the joy and the complexity of the journey.

Why “Vela”?

Vela is a constellation in the southern sky—the sails of the ship Argo. Sailors once steered long journeys home by its stars. It felt like the right name for what we do here: guiding families through a long, remarkable voyage, every step of the way.
